Training and certification of occupational divers, Part 2: Air diving to 30 m

Part 2 specifies the training activities and competencies required for the training and accreditation of divers who are required to work safely and competently using self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (SCUBA) or surface-supplied underwater breathing apparatus (SSBA) to depths of 30 m; and on sites where no surface compression chambers are required to be present on site or within a convenient distance. Such qualification is the minimum required by regulatory authorities who are responsible for the control of on-shore diving involving hard work, machinery and use of a wide range of tools, e.g. construction of jetties and dams. Requirements for training divers for restricted certification, where the diver's underwater work capabilities are limited, are included.
