This Standard deals with the safety of hand-held mains-operated electrical garden vacuums and garden blower/vacuums with or without shredding means and garden blowers for use at and around the home or for similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 25 V single phase. This Standard will supersede AS/NZS 3350.2.2:2001 seven years from the date of publication (i.e. on 14 November 2010). During this seven year period either AS/NZS 3350.2.2 or AS/NZS 60335.2.100 may be used for regulatory purposes in both Australia and New Zealand.
