This Interim Standard specifies the competencies required for work associated with electrical equipment for hazardous areas (commonly termed 'Ex' equipment), including the levels of training and how competency is to be assessed and attributed. The competencies do not specify entry level skills but are intended as additional skills to be built upon already acquired competencies. This Interim Standard applies to all industry sectors dealing with explosion-protected electrical equipment for hazardous areas (EEHA).
