Applies to structural steelwork in buildings and other structures and is intended to provide an authoritative set of standardized requirements suitable for inclusion in the By-laws and/or Statutory Regulations of Australian Building Authorities. Until such time as separate rules or specifications are prepared, the provisions of the code are also intended to apply to transmission line towers, windmill towers, floodlight towers, tankstands and wireless antennae masts and the like, when not attached to buildings.
