Pneumatic systems for industrial equipment

Sets out requirements for pneumatic systems used in industrial equipment, as defined hereunder. These requirements have regard to the adequacy of the design, safety of personnel, uninterupted production, and long life of the equipment in which the pneumatic system is used. For the purposes of this specification the term "industrial equipment" is intended to include machine tools within the following definitions. (A) A "metal-cutting machine tool" is a power-driven machine., not portable by hand, used for the purpose of removing metal in the form of chips. (B) A "metal-forming machine tool" is a power-driven machine, not portable by hand, used to press, forge, emboss, hammer, blank or shear metal. The term "industrial equipment" also includes other pneumatically controlled or actuated equipment not normally clasified as machine tools but similarly used in manufacturing.
