This standard sets out the requirements for fire safety on Australian railway rolling stock. The requirements are laid out such that the user can choose either a Deemed-to-Comply Requirement (in which explicit specification-level criteria must be met) or a Performance Requirement (in which explicit performance-level criteria must be demonstrated). Part 3 of this standard applies to passenger rolling stock only.
