Specifies requirements for the assurance of product quality in the manufacture of boilers, pressure vessels, piping and associated equipment. It covers both regulatory and purchaser requirements and proposes varying degrees of external design verification and fabrication inspection for manufacturers, both with and without an accredited quality system. Requirements are also related to hazard levels of the equipment determined on the basis of risk analysis.
