Specifies requirements for medical refrigeration equipment for the storage of blood and blood products in reach-in refrigeration cabinets and walk-in rooms at temperatures of 5 degrees Celsius and -30 degrees Celsius, within an ambient temperature range of 10 degrees Celsius to 43 degrees Celsius. Guidance on the use of containers for the transport of blood and blood products is also given. Appendices include methods of test for external surface temperature, service load capacity and heat insulating capacity of refrigeration cabinets.
