Sets out procedures involving X-ray and gamma-ray for the testing of welds in a number of different metals. It details the equipment and accessories required to perform the test. Reference is made to three types of IQI, their identification and location. Weld joint designation symbols are listed. Guidance on the sensitivity of different methods and requirements for radiographic density are included. Procedures for surface preparation, radiographic testing and the assessment of radiographs are given in detail. Factors controlling source-to-film distance; film types; different nozzle weldments; record of test results; and guidance on specifying radiography are included in appendices.
