Code of practice for interior lighting and the visual environment

Sets out recommendations designed to produce good seeing conditions in buildings by means of appropriate lighting and interior colour treatment. The code deals primarily with industrial, commercial and public buildings, schools and the working areas in dwellings. It does not deal with methods of lighting for decoration or display. Recommended values of service illuminance are tabulated according to the task and type of interior, for general building areas (e.g. entrances, staff rooms), industrial buildings and processes, public and educational buildings, offices, hospitals and medical premises, and shops and homes.
